I think that the peeling grill may be an issue with these. I had also started to see that on my 13 QX56. I never asked my service adviser about it, though.

I never experienced the clicking noise you describe. That's definitely something that you should have the dealer look at.

One option is calling Infiniti Customer Service directly. Here is the link.
Contact Us | Infiniti Canada

I'm not sure which dealer your working with but looks like 3 in the Toronto area, so you can also try to speak with service advisor from one of the others:
Downtown Toronto
Alta Infiniti in Woodbridge
Infiniti of Willowdale
Good advise to give since sometimes they can do much more for us than what people at the dealership can do. By default it should be where people go when not getting help from any dealer.

So the dealer got back to me and they will be replacing the front grill and as far as the noise it's called a spark knock they said that I should be using premium gas and it should go away so I'm going to start using that I wasn't using that cheapest gas I was putting the medium gas so let's c what happens

Hopefully premium gas actually solves the issue and not after a few tanks but immediately. But if its a case of that you can always try throwing in an octane booster to speed up the process.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

But i'll leave this right here:

I have had my grille replaced twice for the chrome finish peeling/discolored...under warranty, of course. The job took about 30mins. as I waited for it. The service writer said the manu. process had been changed, and to not expect it to reoccur. So far, so good at 2yrs.
As per gas...mine displays a noticeable loss of power when using 87ron regular, so I keep it at least 50%/50% Premium/Regular. Right now regular is $1.799...Premium is $2.209. No problem ever w/pre-ignition 'tho, even when using pure Regular.

…as for the engine knocking, I’ve always used premium fuel (93 octane) and never had any issues (in 89,000 miles). Expensive …YES, but so is the vehicle.

To me, it’s like eating a Big Mac, large fry, and washing it all down with a Diet Coke. What’s the point?

By the way, the Owner’s Manual recommends premium fuel. Hope this helps you. Drive safely.
