Been following up the news of the motorcycles attacking the Range Rover and got me to think if anyone has ever bullet proofed the QX56 before. Seems like its been done.

it's not just important people but even your every day folks that can afford it and feel they need that extra level of support.
i know if I lived in Michigan and had to travel to detroit and had a income to support an armored vehicle I would invest in one. Can put a price on your life.

actually you can if you plan on armoring your QX80... besides if you die what difference will it make to you, you will be dead....

Its not like detroit is all stray bullets and warfare, its tough and nasty and poor but not enough to warrant an armored QX80 for you to roll up to a meeting in...

to my knowledge if you buy a brand new armored road car from them you'll be paying well into the 6 figure range. I bet an armored QX80 will run you $150,000 - 200,000

You would really buy an armored vehicle if you lived in Detroit? I think you are exaggerating. If you buy a less over the top car then people would be less likely to try to rob you in your car. I realize that Detroit is dangerous but an armored vehicle seems like a bit much.

I will say that many people probably carry guns in Detroit though and it makes more sense to buy an armored vehicle to protect you than it does carrying around a gun.

My advice is to just avoid Detroit.

if you feel like this kind of safety is needed. any car can be armored really.

Detroit is pretty scary though. If you call 9-1-1 the police can take up to 2 hours to come to your rescue. That is a lot of time for an emergency vehicle.

I think that people should carry mace or bear spray, not get guns or armored vehicles. But hey, if you do almost get car jacked and your armored QX80 saves you then I will humbly admit that I am wrong.

It's why I rather live somewhere that allows open carry, I rather eliminate the thread before they eliminate me. Not a lot of people can afford armored vehicles, but opening gun laws will have us be safer. Rather be safe when rolling in my QX80

open carry only works in some states. usually more of central united states.

If they tried for open carry in the east and west coast the government would be shut down for years.
