Caddy says the Escalade's headlamps are a "work of art," how does the QX80 compare?

Cadillac just released this ad promoting the 2015 Escalade. In it they call the Escalade's headlamps a "work of art."

Do you think they are really that beautiful, and either way, how do you think the QX80's headlamps compare?

I think the Escalade may have us beat on this one.

Keep in mind the NEW cadillac escalade just got unveiled. So we can't really compare the 2015 Escalade to the outgoing QX80, it's not fair.

the new escalade headlights are no doubt very cool. they put good effort into designing the headlights. it is kind of a play on the new Acura headlights except vertically instead of horizontally

This is what bothers me about modern vehicle manufacturing. The line is headlights that are a work of art, how come nobody cares about these things as functional pieces of machinery?

The gear box wont work but my headlights sure are sophisticated! Costs money to have a soul i suppose.

Are the Escalade's headlamps not functional? They look quite bright to me. I think its pretty obvious that the Escalade has nicer headlights. I do agree that the QX80 is older, but its not like Infiniti has particularly nice headlamps on its newer vehicles either.

I'm talking about the vehicle. I dont care who has prettier headlamps approved by the Council of Superfluous Influences On Art, I care which vehicle functions better you know, as a vehicle...

The Acura LED headlights I've seen in action were very bright.

Now there's laser headlights. I think the next generation QX80 will benefit if it gets them. Something Infiniti owners will appreciate a lot

But people want the coolest new thing on the block so lasers are nextttt!

You do have a good point.
Some cars come from the factory with poor quality projector lenses which can decrease the cut off and not have as nice lighting.
With everything perfected it can make for a killer setup.

I got caught across from an MDX at a 4-way stop...WAY too white/bright.
We looked at the new MDX and were told the color was a "warm" white...not so by my eye.
