Has anyone else had a clicking noise in their engine? I have a 2019 QX80 and brought it in to have the noise checked. They said I need a new engine and this is happening to some 2017-2019 QX80's. They have ordered a "re-manufactured engine". I've been googling to see if anyone else is having this major issue and not finding anything. It's quite unsettling that a 2 year old luxury vehicle needs a new engine.

I have a 2011 QX56, same issue after 112,000 miles. No biggie though, just $16K to replace it. 🤮 Pretty unbelievable actually. I’m getting a 2nd opinion. It drives great. Burns a little oil, but drives great otherwise.

Ok turns out mine was the timing chain. “Only” $6,500 to replace. And the chain being off caused quite a mess with the oil too. All Infiniti has to say about it is “that sucks, sorry” despite there being a recall on timing chains that somehow my VIN didn’t qualify for.

We have the extended warranty, was yours under warranty?
There is a service bulletin for the ticking
EM19-005 ITB19-016, 2017-2018 QX80; ENGINE KNOCK OR TICK NOISE. After the holidays I'll be stopping by the dealership.
Yesterday I was at the dealership for an oil change, we are at 21000 km.

Thnk you for the reply and Happy Holidays.

WARRENTEE!!! All Infiniti QX80’s come standard 5yr drivetrain coverage. And NOT for a re-built engine.
