What do you think? Lexus just revealed some photos of the refreshed 2014 model.

Though we don't know 100% what has changed on the 2014 here is some information on the 2013 as the new one could be very similar.

the GX 460 uses a 4.6-liter V8 that puts out 301 horsepower (up from 263) and 329 lb-ft. of torque (up from 323 lb-ft.). The motor is mated exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission and an off road-oriented two-speed four-wheel-drive system. Fuel economy is up to 15 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway compared to the outgoing model's rather dismal 14/18 mpg.
Although the GX 460 is based on one of the most rugged body-on-frame SUV platforms produced today, its positioning as a Lexus means it a decidedly luxury-oriented SUV. Standard 18-inch wheels add to its on-road presence, as do standard illuminated running boards and a Lexus family waterfall-like horizontal grille.
The GX 460 model makes the outgoing GX 470's optional Kinetic Dynamic Suspension a standard feature. Designed to make the GX more stable and agile, the system offers a trio of suspension modes as well as height adjustability.
Maintaining the old model's rather surprising off-road ability, the GX 460 features an adjustable transfer case that is activated by flipping a switch (unlike the more traditional mechanical transfer case lever on the outgoing model). Optional crawl control allows drivers to manually select a speed from 1 to 3.7 mph that the vehicle will maintain by automatically applying the brakes.
Optional front and wide-view side cameras are designed to help drivers park the GX in tight spaces but have some use off road, as well, for those few drivers who choose to leave the pavement.
Inside, the GX 460 ups the previous model's luxury content with a nine-speaker, 6-CD audio system with Bluetooth and iPod integration, available heated and cooled seats, power-folding third row seats and an optional rear seat entertainment system with dual monitors. A 17-speaker premium system is on the options list.
The GX adds more rear passenger space for the new model, but the cargo bay shrinks by 13 cubic feet.
The GX 460 is available in two trim levels -- base and Luxury.
Occupant Safety
The GX 460 comes standard with dual front and knee airbags, front and second row side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and traction and stability control systems.

I like the front end but as you get to the rear it just doesn't look that good. then again this is just the 2nd generation with a facelift, i'll expect the 3rd generation to look more luxurious and less like some off road vehicle in the rear.
this is the new updated look. 2014. Just came out a few weeks ago. I think it's a nice look. has that rugged look just like the QX80

the QX is rugged in some ways but it's much more classy. you could rebadge the QX as a range rover and some people wont even be able to tell it was an infiniti...it looks that good.
to be fair the GX isn't that much of a direct competitor to the QX80, more like the Lexus LX

Yeah, usually people compare the QX to the Lexus LX.

It's just fair game, GX vs QX80 is like comparing oranges to apples.

Comparing the two, I bet everyone will agree the QX80 does a better job at actually looking like a premium luxurious SUV, the Lexus LX doesn't do it that well.
Just looking at the side profile of the QX80 you can see how elegantly it's styled, unlike the LX, it just looks way too rugged.
by the way, both SUV's will be due for a redesign eventually, just a few years or less. who do you guys think will come up with the better design?
design is personal preference. The Lexus QX is way too expensive.
It's going to be a bit confusing now because when people say the QX two cars come to mind.

I think you mean Lexus LX. It is expensive but it's one of the best luxury SUV's in the world. There's 60 years of history behind it, Toyota has been building the Land Cruiser/LX for a long time. It is the Japanese Range Rover.
ah yes sorry I mean the LX.

It is but you have to admit that compared to the competition its pricey.
I really like the front end of the Lexus LX. The front grille design from Lexus is very aggressive. When looking at the side profile though i think that the QX80 wins. They both look like great vehicles though. I suppose it would come down to the interior and price when deciding which of the two vehicles to buy.
IMO the QX80 is the better looking vehicle inside and out but the LX is just more of a true utility vehicle. The QX80 is just a fancy SUV with a big engine and some utility to it.
The LX is not a bad looking car.

but the reason you probably NEVER see it on the street is because of the poor value.

i really dont know how Lexus demands that kind of price for the LX.
