Hi,

Just purchased a low mileage 2015 QX80 and while everything appears to be super clean the speedometer and tach will not illuminate. The digital cluster between the gauges (in the middle) adjusts brighter and darker no problem. I've confirmed the Extended Storage Switch is disengaged and all electronics seem to work excluding the gauges being illuminated on dash and the analog clock not working at all. I feel like it's something silly I'm missing. I know I can take it to the dealer but it's a bit of a drive so trying to save the trip.

I also noted the rear lift gate will only work when the vehicle is on/started. Something is strange about that as our QX60 you could open/close it at will with the key fob inside the vehicle whether it was started or not.

Any help the forum could provide would be greatly appreciated.

thx

Not sure about the light on the dash. If not a fuse, then I would bite the bullet and take it to the dealer.

The power liftgate should work without the power being on, either from the button to the left of the steering wheel or from the key fob. Maybe the two issues are related? It seems like your best bet would be to let the dealer look into the issues for you.

I have the EXACT same problem. The dealership can't figure it out. Did you find a solution?

I had same problem after advanced auto hooked up a battery reversed polarity by mistake. Blew the battery fuse but after they replaced it I had exact same problem. Lights on dash not working but center display working. Lift gate only worked with engine running. analog clock not working. EXACTLY. They checked all the fuses and were "ok". I dug into it. The one fuse that doesn't come out easy is the one on the panel by the emergency brake labeled elect parts and labeled in black. This is the extended storage fuse. It was engaged like it should be but fuse was blown. To take it out you have to pinch all four corners in near the base with it disengaged (pulled out), then it pops right out. Change the fuse and pushed back in. All is well. Hope that helps. So it's not really that Extended storage is the issue, it's that the fuse is bad and even when pushed in, It's behaving like it's pulled out and in extended storage mode.

Hi, I am experiencing the very same problem you have had. My check engine light came on. We got to our destination went to crank it the next morning and it was dead. To make a long story shorter. They told me the battery was good. This is the second time this has happened. So we automatically replaced the alternator. Getting the truck back the instrument cluster is not lighted up as it usually is. The center cluster works. What can you tell me fixed yours
