Greetings everyone! New member here from Fulshear TX. This new '17 is my largest SUV to date. Over the many years I have sorta run the gauntlet of the "unique" ('99 VehiCROSS..miss this one) to the mundane (Explorer) and a few others in between.
I have a fuel question that I'm sure has been asked in the past but I can't seem to find the answer using the "search". I use premium grade in my G37 & have been told that it's not necessary in the QX80. What are your experiences with middle of the road or regular?
Thanks for allowing me to be a member & providing this forum for us newbies.

I've never used anything but premium in either of my QX's. I can't remember what the fuel door says - maybe premium fuel recommended? I think it may have been "required" on my QX56 and maybe just recommended on my QX80. Either way, I figure it's safer to use the higher quality stuff. As much as we fill the tanks up on these things, it probably could be a meaningful amount of savings to use a cheaper grade. But, I figure if I own one of these and I'm worried about saving some $$$ on cheaper fuel, I probably shouldn't have bought such an expensive SUV!

In any case, welcome to the forum. We're not a terribly active crowd here, but those of us that are active here will be happy to answer any questions you may have that we have can.

Welcome to forum and your new QX80.

2016 QX80 Limited: "Premium Fuel Recommended for Maximum Performance".

I tend to use mostly Top Tier premium 93 octane, but top off occasionally with Top Tier regular knowing I have a base of 93 to blend into.

Thanks much. That's kinda what I figured. The owners manual for our G37 was specific on premium. The guy at the dealership told me the 80 could run on regular grade but "the performance might not be as good". I think I'll play it safe and stick to 93.
Going back to the dealership in the morning as the "SOS" button doesn't connect and stays in a recall loop. I had to shut the rig down the other day to get it to stop trying to connect.

Might be the Infiniti connection account. They had problems with mine, (3G connection) and customer service had to cancel and restore my subscription a couple times to get it to register and work properly.
Not sure if yours is related or other mechanical.
