Hi All - I wanted to send greetings from Toronto Canada. I'm a new owner of a '16 QX80. Recently upgraded from a QX60 and took the leap to this beast. We have a big family and lug a good deal of "Stuff" with us to the cottage ect so the QX80 seemsed like the next best option after looking at everything else.

I have a couple of questions for the group - hope you all can help.
1. Has anyone purchased "crossbars" for the roof? (typically you put a Thule case on these for more storage)
2. Has anyone connected an Iphone to the rear screens for video output?
3. Does anyone have any "gotcha moments" to share with the Q.... "things to watch out for"...

thanks all!

Quiet Group - Lots of views but noone active?

Its been about a week now with the new QX80. I have to say, I'm pleasantly suprised at just about everything. My favorite things so far are:
1. The sound of the engine - she just sounds so friggin good!
2. How high it is riding off the ground... (driving up to a drive in window is sooooo easy now lol) JK
3. The space... the headroom. Feels so comfortable.
4. The looks! Lots of ppl rubber necking at this beast. I've recieved a good deal of compliments so far - nice job Infiniti.

Does anyone have any info if the QX will get the same lights as the 2017 Patrol?

Generally it's a quiet group. And with the holidays, there was probably nobody here but the crickets!

My QX56 didn't have the cross rails and I never purchased them. Our QX80 had them standard, but I've never used them. The rig is tall enough as it is. I'd be awfully nervous with something more on the top!

I've never connected an iPod/iPhone to the rear, but it can be done. As an alternative, a user on another forum has used a Raspberry Pi as a media player for the rear. Try this link to read about it - External USB HD problem - Nissan Armada Forum: Armada & Infiniti QX56 Forums. I'm considering giving this a try.

Nothing to really watch out for. The fuel gauge on the 2016 and newer models seems to be calibrated a little differently than previous versions. It definitely seems to be different than my 2013 QX56.

Agreed on the engine - love the roar but I wish there was a little more to the exhaust. The GM products usually have a nice rumble to them from the exhaust. I'm sure the big Infiniti V8 could sound that way. Since it's my wife's daily driver, I don't think I'm going to tinker with the exhaust, though.

It's a polarizing design, for sure. People either love it or hate it. I think they look great, especially the updated versions with the "mesh look" grille and the DRL's. We've got a limited, so we've got a bunch of dark chrome, including the wheels. I think the whole package looks great. And it is super quiet and roomy. I guess that's why we're on our second one!

I'm a new member as well. Just got my brand new QX80 a few days ago. It has less than 150 miles on it now, and I'm concerned about some sort of buzzing noise and occasional clicking noise coming from the brake pedal. Does yours do this?

Welcome to the forum and your new QX80. Hopefully, the dealer gets your brake issue resolved ... left my comments on your other thread for brakes.

1) Mine came stock with crossbars but never put anything on roof. I have tight clearance getting into a few parking garages as it is. Although I've seen folks do it for trips.
2) To be honest ... I've never turned my rear screens on and haven't tried to connect with iphone.
3) I posted a one year review in another thread. Really few problems ... just some minor annoyances that I need addressed after first year of ownership.

The limited has a beautiful interior which is what sold me on the QX80. Outside is sharp, but the nose is something that either you love it or don't. The black chrome on the limited adds a nice touch.

Not sure what size rims you have, but I'm running the 22's ... I suspect now that cold weather is upon the Northeast my ride has gotten harder and more bumpy. I've had a little more rumble than I liked for this vehicle to which they did road force balance and rotation ... seemed to improve, but not where it should be in my opinion. It could be the tires ... but I may try to borrow a 2017 QX80 with 22" and see if the ride is same in cold weather.
