Ordering/Pricing

I'd love to hear people's experiences ordering a QX80 and how much off MSRP you were able to get. Not really having a good buying experience so far. Ready to trade up my 2008 QX56, but can't order til a certain date and won't agree on price til order date comes up? AND can't even get me firm price til order date? Wonder if people ordering have gotten exactly what they ordered. Sad that there's not a single fully loaded QX80 AWD anywhere in the country! I'd love to just buy off the lot, but no use upgrading if I don't get all the features. Bluetooth alone is not worth a $50,000 upgrade.

When did they say you can order one? Never knew we couldn't order now, always thought the ordering process was open with the QX80 on Infiniti's website.
Sales manager said can only order twice a month. I'm still unclear what those dates are. I can't get a price either (according to him), until he can place the order. I am really feeling uncomfortable with these guys. They are not the same salesmen we had back when I bought my QX56. I've thought about going out of town to buy, but will still have to get it serviced in same area as salesmen.

it's weird how they can only order twice a month, was their any reason for that? or any good reason you can think it would be for?
they don't usually stock the QX80 to be honest. Sales volume for the model is LOW.

Very true, I guess it's a way to bulk as many orders as possible in a reasonable amount of time. I wonder if these are built to order
that I don't know. But I wouldn't be surprised. It also depends what you order.

If you order something that is sitting out on a storage lot somewhere you will probably get a better deal.
chances are they have some models built with the most popular configuration, just for those easy orders. but built to order seems like the better way to go about this.
I rarely see QX80s on the lot
So thats why I'd assume they are order only.

When you get up to that price point buyers are more prone to full customization, compared to say a civic shopper will take the closest option on the lot. So to cut down on superfluous inventory they stock 1 or 2 and the rest are factory ordered..
I just don't understand why the dealer won't give you a price quote before you order. That doesn't make much sense to me. The order date shouldn't affect the price you get quoted. Is this a common practice? i've never encountered it.

It means the guy is trying to pull some funny business. If I was him I would walk. A sales man who won;t give you full transparency is clearly trying to hide something in the dark...

well you usually go in

talk about what you want

negotiate a price

then order the car. and pay for it.

car arrives

you pick it up

everything is good

Vehicle Ordered

To update on the previous quote, we felt like we were being screwed, so we used the TrueCar app and got the car ordered exactly how I wanted it within 2 days. It is a 3 hour drive away, but we saved $6000!!! It is 3 months to order. Should come in next week! I'm so excited!!!

All that to save $6000, sounds like time well spent! Good stuff!
Doing better than most that would just pay what ever the local dealer charges.
I found this 2014 QX80 at an Infiniti dealer in Orange county, Southern California. It's gorgeous. I want one of this. I can not look at a regular QX80 anymore.

Purchased 2015 Hermosa Blue 12/24/14. Sticker 77,150. Paid TrueCar suggested price 72,900. No haggling, just showed him the app and he shook my hand.
