Any owners have real world mileage to report?

2013 models got 14 MPG city and 16 MPG highway. I don't expect 2014 models to get much more, it's hard to extract more MPG's from V8's

I think mileage is one thing Infiniti and Nissan need to put some money into improving

Their V6 and V8 engines are INFAMOUS for high consumption of both engine oil and gasoline

with the right technology and investment they can make the current engines deliver better gas mileage and consume less oil but when the current generation QX80 is slowly coming to an end, is it worth it?

i think they might as well shift those efforts to the next generation model

I don't know why they haven't made a full sized hybrid SUV since GM has already done this, Infiniti is falling behind, time for them to catch up and get a Hybrid QX80 in the works.

they just need to make sure it's much more impressive than the Escalade Hybrid, it's not, but not nice enough

this i felt was one of those vehicles GM had to make into a hybrid as a way to build up to something far greater. Now that they had the chance to build a platform that fully supports a hybrid set up with the 2015 escalade, we can expect a class-leading full size hybrid SUV from Cadillac.

all car makers start small and eventually offer up something amazing as things progress.

there are other ways to make it more fuel efficient.

throw in a diesel. tune it so that it doesn't sound like crap.

i personally believe the reason the GL sells so well is because its available in diesel.

Test Drive Mileage

When I test drove the QX80 for the day, I had 7.5 MPG in the city. Pretty sad, but with my QX56, I usually only have to fill up once every week or 2.

On the road w/a load...

Our '14 QX80 AWD is brand new and we got 14.5mpg ( according to the trip computer ) on a 3hr. trip on the Interstate @ 85mph. ( w/Premium fuel ) This was loaded w/900lbs of peeps and their luggage. AC @ full blast...Active Cruise ON.
