Lets compare the QX80 with the Kings of Bling, the Lincoln Navigator and the Cadillac Escalade. I feel the QX80 is more on tier with the 2 Americans than it is competing with the big Mercs, Ranges and Lexus' (which have already been done here).
Compared to the Navigator and the Escalade the QX80 is actually a champion off road, which is not saying much. QX80 does have manual selectable gears to help traverse steep grades coupled with hill descent. Not to mention 4 high and low.
But nobody shops these bling kings for there off road prowess.
The Escalade is one of the most egregious symbols of pseudo luxury, however it still leave much to be desired interior wise. Shoppers will be left wanting more modern applications inside. The Navigator is behind in the times, but with retro becoming the newest trend it may not have to change much
MSRPS are similar, QX80 at $61K, Escalade at $63K and Navigator at $56K. Intersting enough the Navigator at base does not come equipped with 4WD.
All 3 will seat 7 comfortably. QX80 wins in the MPG department likely due to its swoopy styling, while the other two remain aerodynamically ignorant.
MPG city/highway
QX80: 14/20 MPG
Escalade: 13/18 MPG
Navigator: 13/20 MPG
The Truth is in the visuals...
