Lets compare the QX80 with the Kings of Bling, the Lincoln Navigator and the Cadillac Escalade. I feel the QX80 is more on tier with the 2 Americans than it is competing with the big Mercs, Ranges and Lexus' (which have already been done here).

Compared to the Navigator and the Escalade the QX80 is actually a champion off road, which is not saying much. QX80 does have manual selectable gears to help traverse steep grades coupled with hill descent. Not to mention 4 high and low.

But nobody shops these bling kings for there off road prowess.

The Escalade is one of the most egregious symbols of pseudo luxury, however it still leave much to be desired interior wise. Shoppers will be left wanting more modern applications inside. The Navigator is behind in the times, but with retro becoming the newest trend it may not have to change much ;)

MSRPS are similar, QX80 at $61K, Escalade at $63K and Navigator at $56K. Intersting enough the Navigator at base does not come equipped with 4WD.

All 3 will seat 7 comfortably. QX80 wins in the MPG department likely due to its swoopy styling, while the other two remain aerodynamically ignorant.

MPG city/highway

QX80: 14/20 MPG
Escalade: 13/18 MPG
Navigator: 13/20 MPG

The Truth is in the visuals...

navigator as seen here has been since 2007.

For October 2013 the Navigator sold 954 while the QX80 moved 1117. So for all its modernity the QX80 is only barely out performing the Navigator.

Lincoln hasn't fallen behind. They set the bar, Escalade and QX80 have both been through 2 design cycles while the Navigator has remained unchanged, but hey if people are still buying them...

I think that the styling of the Escalade is looking best. I am hoping that Infiniti will make the QX80 look a bit more modern with its next model. The Lincoln really misses the mark on the interior. The front of it looks pretty good but I think the rear end could use some rethinking as well. I just prefer the straight edges of the Escalade to the more rounded edges of the QX80.

To be fair the Escalade interior is a 2014 interior.

The QX80 interior has been the same for some time and the Navigator interior has been the same since the 1960s :p

At the time of release the QX56/QX80 interior was a bar above and it still holds ground today.

yea QX80s interior is nicely appointed, but its nothing over the top hands down have to have...

even though the Escalade is the 2014 interior for a brand new vehcile it certainly leaves much to be desired interior wise. It just does not seem like much of an improvement over '13....

I like how the cup holders arent in the way of the armrest. Such a pet peeve for me for so many cars
Same here. At least it's very driver-friendly, not so much for the passenger if they wanted to use the center arm rest, but that doesn't matter.
Lexus made the mistake of putting a cup holder dead center and right before the arm rest which does get annoying, good thing that was just in the 90's and nothing recent:
